# About Box Office Index

Page: https://boxofficeindex.co/about/ · Updated 2026-11-05 · Box Office Index

Box Office Index is an independent reference for Indian cinema. It covers every Indian film it can list since 1930, in every language, with credits, and day-by-day box office tables for films in release and past films where figures exist.
Every figure is a compiled estimate and is revised when better numbers appear. Where more than one figure exists for a film and day, the site shows their median. The [methodology](https://boxofficeindex.co/methodology/) sets out the rules.
The site gives facts only. It does not rate or review films and gives no verdicts on them.
